Tek Speks...Computer Consulting for all computer users.

Corey Serrins has been working with computers since 1980. His first computer was an Atari 400, which was soon upgraded to an Apple //e. Next his father bought the first model Macintosh, and from there he was hooked. Corey has been working on the Macintosh computer since 1984. Corey then became involved with the Windows operating system starting with 3.1, and was self taught with Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP.

Since high school, Corey had known that he wanted his own company to be called Tech Specs, which stands for Technical Specialist. When the company became a reality, the internet was just starting to grow, but http://www.techspecs.com was taken, so Corey changed the phonetics of the original name to what it is today, Tek Speks.

How did Tek Speks become a reality? With the push of his wife, he realized that all the help he was giving friends on the computer, could be lucrative. Things were slow at first, but through word of mouth, numerous people began to use Tek Speks for all their computer needs. People saw that one-on-one contact and great customer service was provided by Corey and they spread the word.

Tek Speks is now known throughtout Gainesville as the Macintosh resource and Corey is referred to as the Mac Dr. Don't let the title fool you though, he is extremely experienced on Windows as well.

So why "The Computer Guy?" It seems everywhere I go, and all the people I help continued to call me by that name, so I took it on professionally as a way to let people know who am I!

A great story, but what are my qualifications? other than the 22 years of personal experience?

I am A+ certified, which is a computer service certification by CompTIA. This certification lets you know that I am knowledgable at servicing computers on the inside, as well as troubleshooting the operating system. Check this link for more information about CompTIAs A+ certification.

I am OS 10.3 and 10.4 Help Desk Certified by Apple Computers, Inc. This means that I am knowledgeable on both the 10.3 (Panther) and 10.4 (Tiger) operating systems and how to troubleshoot them.

I am a certified teacher by the state of Florida, and taught grades 4 - 12 for 13 years in Alachua County, so I am familiar not only with the computer, but what is involved in giving you the best learning experience.

We look forward to serving Gainesville for a long time to come.
